SUMMARY:Afternoon Tea - 100 Years of Fairfield Church Hall
DESCRIPTION:Even though many of you will know the building that is currently standing as Fairfield Village Hall\, its official name is Fairfield Church Hall. \n  \nIn 1979 the old wooden Church Hall was knocked down and replaced by the Village Hall that stands today.  The management of the hall was moved from the St. Mark’s to a Committee of Management\, elected residents from the community and designated service users. \n  \nThe hall was formally opened on Saturday December 11th 1926 by Lady Georgina Vernon. \n  \nFor more information about the Church Hall the opening ceremony\, visit https://fvca.org.uk/fairfield-church-hall/ \n  \nCelebrating 100 Years \n  \nAs there is a lot going on in December\, with our and other Christmas events\, we will mark the centenary of Fairfield Church Hall on Friday 30 October with an afternoon tea\, starting at 2.00pm\, with a selection of sandwiches\, cakes and lashing of tea.  During the afternoon\, there will be demonstrations from some of our current hall users\, dancing & taekwondo.  There will also be a display of photos and memories in the Hall foyer\, including videos of past pantomimes.  Tickets are £8.00 each and can be purchased below or from the Community Shop (open during Foodie Fairfield and The Wednesday Social. The Village Hall bar will be open for people wanting something stronger than tea & coffee. \n  \nDo you have any photos or memories that you can share? \n  \nPop them down to the Hall during the morning of Friday 30 October\, collect on Saturday evening\, during the Halloween Family Event.  We’d like to scan your photos and memories\, so that they can be kept for years to come.

DESCRIPTION:Scruffy Bear Media are coming to BARTS\, a brilliant opportunity for anyone interested in movie production to question the film makers. \nScruffy Bear Media are a British independent production company that produced the 2021 National Film Award winner Lucas And Albert\, beating 1917 and Fighting With My Family. \nOn Wednesday 25 November\, Nicky Hagan (Producer) and Darren Cook (Director) will be joining us as we screen Tales of the Underworld (the prequel to Lucas And Albert). The third and final film in the trilogy\, Babysitters\, is in pre-production. \n  \nAbout the film\nTold through the eyes of a journalist digging too deep\, Tales of the Underworld exposes a ruthless criminal empire where missing men\, police informants\, and shifting loyalties make survival a dangerous game. \n\nStars: Ian Burfield\, Oliver Cotton\, Michael McKell \n\n  \nFollowing the screening\, there will be a Q&A. \n  \nAdmission: £5.50 (Adults); £4.50 (Students) \n

SUMMARY:Talk: It’s a musical life! with Danielle Saxon Reeves
DESCRIPTION:Spend an hour with Danielle Saxon Reeves\, hear all about how she found herself with a very unusual occupation and her 40 year journey to becoming a professional musician. \nDanielle is a fretted instrument specialist playing Guitar\, Banjo and Mandolin; with a particular personal interest in the music of the 19th century : the Early Romantic Guitar\, the Classical Mandolin and the Classic Fingerstyle Banjo .  Having previously studied with Craig Ogden and Mark Ashford\, Danielle then graduated from Birmingham Conservatoire in June 2001. She has performed at a wide range of UK venues and festivals including at Art in Action\, St David’s Cathedral Festival\, The Royal Festival Hall at The South Bank; The Bolivar Hall\, London; the CBSO Centre in Birmingham\, the Royal Philharmonic Hall\, Liverpool and Birmingham Town Hall; at York Guitar Festival\, Bath Banjo Festival\, Droitwich Festival\, Jane Austen Festival\, Bath; Hagley Music Festival and numerous appearances on BBC Radio and Television both as a soloist and with various ensembles. \nAs well as a performing career\, Danielle directs the Midlands Fretted Orchestra\, which was founded in September 2001 to promote the ensemble playing of fretted instruments. The Award Winning orchestra is based on the principles of the original fretted orchestras which were popular in the 19th Century\, and is one of only a handful of similar ensembles in the UK. \nThis talk has been arranged by Halesowen & Hagley Farmers’ Club\, and is supported by Fairfield Village Community Association/Bromsgrove Arts.
